Young children, in their exploration of the world around them, often turn to their mouths, which can lead to the risk of accidentally ingesting harmful substances.

Bitrex (Denatonium Benzoate) is recognized as the most bitter substance in the world. Although inert and odorless, a small amount of Bitrex can make any product extremely unpleasant to the palate. In fact, just one teaspoon of Bitrex is enough to make the water in an Olympic-sized swimming pool noticeably bitter. For this reason, it is incorporated into a wide range of household products, pesticides, DIY products, bleaches, acids, among others.

As part of its commitment to safety, Flopp has integrated this substance into all its products packaged in water-soluble pods.

The water-soluble film of the pods contains Bitrex, whose bitter and unbearable taste causes an instinctive reaction of spitting it out if it comes into contact with the mouth, thus preventing its ingestion by not allowing time for it to dissolve.

Bitrex serves as an excellent deterrent to prevent accidental ingestion, offering a bitter but effective solution.
